Bright Reserve Release No. 005 ⚡️

Good coffee runs in the family.

Francy Castillo grew up working alongside her parents and four sisters on their family’s coffee farm in Arboleda, Nariño, Colombia. What started as helping out on the farm eventually became a career in agronomy, coffee production, and a whole lot of hard work.

And we’re pretty glad it did.

Today, Francy manages Finca El Ubérrimo, a family-run farm sitting at 2,118 MASL in the mountains of Nariño. She’s also behind the Berruecos project, an initiative connecting smaller, often isolated producers with the specialty coffee market and helping them earn better prices for their harvests.

It’s thoughtful, community-driven work. And the coffee speaks for itself.

The Process

Good things take time - this coffee is a great example.

It starts with carefully selected, fully ripe cherries, harvested at a deep red colour and measuring over 22° Brix. After flotation sorting, the cherries spend two days oxidizing in jute sacks before being pulped and fermented for another 80 hours.

From there, the coffee is rinsed and slowly dried, starting on concrete patios before spending 18 days under covered tents. It’s a carefully managed process that puts a whole lot of attention into every stage.

The result - a beautifully expressive coffee with layered fruit sweetness, a rounded body, and a lingering, honey-like finish.

Cooked Berries. Dried Fig. Honeycomb.
