The Gigante Decaf is yet another brilliant representation of how Sugar Cane Decaf is capable of producing decaffeinated coffees that taste remarkably like their caffeinated counterparts. We're hooked. From this one, we get gentle notes of Plum and Melon in the body, finishing with a sweetness reminiscent of fireside S'mores.
Set your preconceived notions of what Decaf coffee tastes like, we'll be brewing this one at all hours of the day.

The town of Gigante is located in the East-Central part of Huila at the convergence of several important features in the region. The municipality is intersected by the Magdelena River and it acts as a commercial centre for all trade in the area. It is known for cacao production at lower altitude farms and for producing world-class coffee at high altitudes. This particular lot was gathered from small farms throughout the municipality and blended based on moisture & water activity as well as flavour profile at our exporter's lab in Pitalito, Huila. The average farm size in this area is slightly larger than other areas of Colombia so picking is completed by labourers from other areas who travel and work at various farms in the area during harvest. This year, Apex is offering this blend as an EA decaf. The decaffeinated version has a very clean, sweet, and balanced profile, making it one of the best decafs we've tasted this year.
** We charge an addition .50c Grinding Fee per bag for coffee that needs to be pre-ground.
But hang on a sec!
We'd be remiss if we didn't take a minute to mention WHY we think you should track down a grinder to enjoy the best cup of joe possible. When coffee is ground, the stuff inside that makes it unique and amazing begins to degass. The longer your coffee sit's around ground, the more it degasses and becomes a ghost of the beautiful bean it once was. Of course, there are times when grinding to brew isn't possible, you do you man - we figured we'd drop some knowledge in the event it provides a bit of info that ultimately leads you to a better brew!
