Fidencio has a long history in coffee production. He initially started with just 1500 Caturra and Colombia coffee trees but thanks to the support of his wife Esmeralda Guerrero, his 5 daughters, and his neighbours, his farm now has over 20.000 coffee trees in production. Under the influence of Fidencio and his passion for coffee, three of his daughters went to study agronomy and food processing-related degrees in hopes to support and help manage the family farm in the future. Finca El Pedregal is one of the first farms to produce coffee in San Lorenzo. Most residents here have been weary of growing coffee due to the low temperatures in this area ranging from 10- 12 degrees celsius. Despite this challenge, valuable resources such as the Juanambústream is accessible to the farm. An ecosystem of different trees at El Pedregal draw from this stream and work together to preserve the soil and protect the plantation from harsh winds. Fidencio and his family's immense efforts to preserve the land has enabled them to continue their passion for coffee production. Their years of experience and improvement in farming practices has resulted in a coffee with high clarity, sweetness, and juicy cup flavours.
